The US Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) together with the National SAFE KIDS campaign has announced safety initiatives regarding portable cribs used in various hotels and motels. In the previous years, there have been reviews of portable cribs detachable parts to have caused a few minor accidents among infants. In one of the reports, a mother of a six month old baby boy narrated about how her baby almost fell through a slat opening. In addition, this was also an entrapment risk to her child because the crib slats can actually be detached from the headboard of the crib itself.
