Baby Shower Drinks
Baby shower drinks can be just about anything you want to have to celebrate such a special occasion. Of course, it would be a good idea to offer non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, in case the Mom to be doesn't wish to drink an alcoholic beverage. For that matter, at some parties, all of the guests will opt not to have alcoholic drinks as a show of support for Mom. It's really up to you and the Mom to be to decide in advance of the shower.
You can get as complicated, simple, fancy or plain as you'd like as well and offer anything from Plain Jane Root Beer to flavored water with ice. It's not a really time consuming part of the shower menu, but it does require some thought, particularly if you have a tropical theme.
If you do go with a tropical theme then you might want to check out non-alcoholic drink recipes on the Net. There are tons of them, and it won't take you long to find several drink recipes that would suit the bill. They don't have to be complicated drinks, but they should be colorful and flavorful.
Coffee, tea, punch and soda are other good choices as well. For a nifty and memorable touch of class, have pink and blue sweeteners for coffee drinkers. Tea is nice as well, and what's even better, is a selection to choose from. That applies to soda too. Have both diet and regular on hand.
How about punch? There are super punch recipes to be found in cookbooks, on the Internet, and even from your friends. Try either a traditional punch or go for pink lemonade or mint julep. Tip: here's something really unique you can do for glasses at your baby shower - use baby bottles as glasses. Take the nipples out of the bottles and use colorful straws and cocktail umbrellas with a twist of lemon or lime. At the end of the party, give the whole bottle to the Mom to be.
Here's one really great punch recipe you might want to try:

Mint leaves
